Ruth Jones has dropped a tantalising hint that a Gavin and Stacey comeback is in the pipeline.
The writer and actress, who played Nessa in the hit BBC sitcom, revealed she’d spoken this week with co-writer James “Smithy” Corden about plot lines.
Bookmakers have now slashed the odds of the show making a welcome return, sparking excitement among fans.
The massively popular series ran for three years but ended in 2010 after tying up the loose ends.
But asked during an interview on ITV’s Lorraine if she ever wondered where the characters would be now, she said: “James and I were talking about this the other day.
“I think baby Neil, who’s now 11, Nessa is training him down the slots.
“She’s training him in the art of the dodgy grabbing machine and all of that kind of thing and how to wait for the two-pences.”
Ladbrokes have cut the odds of the Bafta-winning show returning for at least one episode to 5/4, which means the bookies now think it’s almost as likely to happen as not.

Rob Brydon previously said: “If James and Ruth want to do it then I think we’d all do it.
“It’s them really. I think it’s a real balance between, ‘let’s leave it on a high, people love it,’ but there’s also a big feeling of, ‘oh, it would be so lovely to get back together and do a special’.
