Emmerdale’s James Moore hits back at online trolls

The actor has been sent unkind messages from a minority of viewers

Emmerdale newcomer James Moore has responded to nasty viewers who took to social media recently to comment on his appearance.

The actor, who plays Charity Dingle’s long-lost son Ryan, hit back at people who posted comments online about his hair and clothes, with one even suggesting that he looked homeless.

In a brilliantly-worded tweet the actor responded by telling his Twitter followers that ‘acting isn’t a beauty contest’.

We couldn’t have put it better ourselves.

And of course James’s legion of fans were quick to respond to his message with support, telling him to ignore the haters.

James’s character Ryan has been at the centre of Charity Dingle’s latest storyline that has revealed she was sexually abused at just 14-years-old by DI Bails and subsequently had a baby.

The pair have met up and seemed to be forming some sort of relationship, only for Charity to then leave a drunken voicemail where she told Ryan that she didn’t want to be his mother.

Although Charity regretted the message she left for her estranged son, the damage was done after he heard it.

Emmerdale has confirmed that James is now a full-time part of the cast though, so it seems this is far form the last we have seen of Ryan and his complex relationship with Charity.

Emmerdale continues tonight at 7pm for an hour-long special on ITV.
