The opening credits to EastEnders have been the same for years – but now BBC Three sketch show Big Field has taken to Twitter to share their own revamped version – and it’s hilarious!
We all know that Walford isn’t the happiest of places to live in the world – but these new spoof credits have got fans in hysterics as they edit together some of the more dramatic and gruesome moments in Albert Square.

But that’s not all – gone is the traditional EastEnders theme tune that we all know and love, and instead the grim moments from EastEnders are played over the backing track of a ‘Happy Days’ theme tune.

Huge EastEnders moments like Max Branning strangling Ian Beale, Mick Carter getting shot at New Year, and Louise getting her prom dress set on fire are all part of the hilarious opening credits – and the editing has been done so brilliantly that it all fits perfectly in time to the music.
And just to remind us what an action-packed year we have had in Walford, most of the scenes in these new opening credits are from the last 12 months.
Fans have loved watching these new credits – with some asking for the same thing to be made for Coronation Street and Emmerdale, too…






Some of the people commenting even admitted they didn’t watch the show – but still loved the spoof credits nonetheless…

There’s no denying that EastEnders packs a lot of drama into it’s episodes – and with Kat Slater set to bring plenty of fresh chaos when she returns this month, they might need to use these new credits after all!

EastEnders airs Monday and Friday at 8pm and Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
