EastEnders no longer airing on Fridays, new schedule explained

EastEnders usually airs on Friday nights. However tonight (Friday, April 8) there will be no episode of the soap.

Why is there no EastEnders tonight?

The BBC has changed EastEnders‘ schedule on a permanent basis.

EastEnders now airs Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm.

This means EastEnders will no longer air on Fridays.

When is EastEnders back on?

Following EastEnders’ new schedule, the soap will be back on on Monday (April 4).

Spoilers: What’s happening in next week’s episodes?

In next week’s scenes Whitney and Martin are shocked to see a dishevelled Jean tumbling out of a limo after a night out.

Martin takes her back to Sharon’s and she talks about her night out with a stag do as she goes through Linda’s suitcase, admiring her clothes.

Stacey arrives and tells Jean she has a doctor’s appointment this Friday, but Jean is furious and storms off.

Meanwhile Harvey is sulking after his break up with Jean but his attention is forced elsewhere when Neil gets in his taxi and makes a threat he can’t ignore.

Neil threatens Harvey but is stopped by an oblivious Jean, who wants to clear the air.

However Harvey is adamant they’re over.

Outside, Jean notices the groom from the stag do getting married. He lets her catch the bouquet, awkwardly trying to get rid of her.

Soon she proposes to Harvey. What will he say?

Meanwhile Nancy stays the night with Zack and Linda is surprised to see her at Sharon’s.

Nancy makes it clear she wants nothing to do with her mother. Will she ever be able to forgive her?
