Who is Mr Henry Thorne in Coronation Street?
Mr Henry Thorne first arrived in Coronation Street in May as the new boss of nurse Aggie Bailey.
Mr Thorne was the surgeon who performed the liver transplant on Peter Barlow.
Although Aggie had heard he was a stickler, she received a warm welcome from him.
However when he made a mistake, he blamed her and put her on a warning.
Shocked Aggie was sent further into a spin when she overheard Thorne gloating to a colleague how he rushed Peter’s operation to win a bet.
What happened between Peter and Thorne in Coronation Street?
Peter and Carla found out what Mr Thorne had done and Peter angrily demanded an apology.
He then declared he was going to put a stop to Mr Thorne’s abuse of power.
But when Peter tracked Thorne down to a restaurant, he smugly pushed Peter too far and Peter punched him.
The police arrested Peter on suspicion of assault.
Mr Thorne offered to drop the charges against Peter and retire with immediate effect if in return Peter withdraw his complaint at the hospital.
But after Peter found out Thorne had propositioned Carla, he later told his wife that he intended to make the surgeon pay.
Peter called the Gazette and asked them to run an article about Mr Thorne’s unethical behaviour.
Peter asked Aggie if she could dig through NHS records and provide him with any information which might incriminate Mr Thorne.
Aggie did decide to help and other nurses came forward, but the evidence might not be enough for the General Medical Council.
Does Thorne get away with it?
It’s looking increasingly likely that Henry Thorne won’t pay in Coronation Street.
Peter is determined not to let it lie.
He even recorded Thorne confessing on an old dictaphone.
But the crafty medic managed to get the upper hand again when he tricked Peter’s son, Simon, into handing over the device.
