Helen Worth says Coronation Street is a “fabulous place to work”, despite a number of stars announcing their exit.
The 68-year-old actress has been playing Gail Platt on the ITV soap since 1974.
She has defended the show as “fantastic” amid the likes of Bhavna Limbachia (Rana Habeeb), Connie Hyde (Gina Seddon), Kym Marsh (Michelle Connor), Tristan Gemmill (Robert Preston), Faye Brookes (Kate Connor) and Lucy Fallon (Bethany Platt) all announcing their departures within three months of each other.
When asked about the rumours about “morale” on the soap during an appearance on Good Morning Britain on Friday (May 24), Helen said:
“It’s fantastic, it’s a fabulous place to work. I work with an amazing family, and have been working with them for a long time. Everyone who joins us seems to join in with us.”
