Soap star Lucy Fallon has defended Coronation Street‘s controversial cheating plot.
Lucy’s character, Bethany, kissed Daniel Osbourne while his wife Sinead Tinker lay dying during her heartbreaking cancer battle.
Some fans were disgusted at the plot twist and said it ruined an otherwise well-executed exit storyline for Sinead.
Now, Lucy has defended the controversial plot.
She told The Sun: “When they [Daniel and Bethany] had the kiss, people were kicking off.

“But I feel like it was important for Corrie to show that Daniel was suffering so much, and he was losing his mind, that the kiss was just a moment where he wanted comfort.
“It wasn’t like he was ‘cheating’ on his wife. I don’t see it like that. And Bethany is obviously guilt-stricken.”
Viewers didn’t see it that way and accused to show of ‘bolting-on’ drama for drama’s sake.
