The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to her third child, a baby boy.
Kensington Palace has confirmed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed a son just after 11am on Monday morning.
A statement read: “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 11.01 hrs.
“The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz.”
The palace added: “The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.
“The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.”
A name has yet to be announced.

The new arrival is now fifth in line to the throne, pushing his uncle, Prince Harry, down to sixth place.

It’s not yet known when we will get our first glimpse at the newest member of the Cambridge family, but it’s expected Kate and William will follow their usual tradition of posing for photos outside the hospital with their baby in due course.
Kate, 36, was admitted to the Lindo Wing, a private maternity ward at St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, in the early hours of Monday morning, with husband William, 35, by her side.
