Love Island’s voting percentages are FASCINATING

You'll never believe how close it was

The British public hasn’t been this united by a decision since… er, well, it’s been a while.

On Monday night we voted for Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer to win Love Island 2018 – a choice that seemed like a foregone conclusion from day one of this year’s series.

And now the official voting figures have confirmed it.

ITV have revealed the numbers, and it seems that nearly 80% of us voted for the loveable former barmaid Dani and pen salesman, Jack.

Between July 29 and 30, the couple received an overwhelming 79.66% of the public vote.

But as for the three runners-up, it turns out it was a really close call.

On Monday evening, presenter Caroline Flack revealed in a dramatic and emotional live final that Laura Anderson and Paul Knops had come second, beating Kaz Crossley and Josh Denzel who came in third.

Meanwhile Megan Barton Hanson and Wes Nelson came in fourth.

ITV revealed that Laura and Paul received 8.43% of the vote, while Kaz and Josh were close behind them, with 6.05%. Megan and Wes were barely a percentage behind them, with 5.86%.

A Twitter account called Super TV also posted some other key stats from the series, showing Dani, 22, and Jack, 26, were consistently viewer favourites.

It also revealed that Dr Alex George was popular with viewers.

In fact, had he not dumped Alexandra Cane with days to go before the end, they could’ve been a contender for second place.

The news comes just as winner Jack revealed that he wants to propose to his new girlfriend.
