Death in Paradise’s lead actor Kris Marshall announced that he was leaving the programme last week.
But it seems that not many people knew who would be replacing him!
Actor Ardal O’Hanlon appeared on The One Show to tell everybody he was joining the cast for the latest series and viewers were shocked.

During the Irish actor’s appearance on the chat show, fans took to social media to share their anger and disappointment.
One user said: “Erm plot spoiler…”
Another sarcastically said: “Thanks for that huge spoiler”, with a very angry face next to it.
Oh dear. This viewer said: “The One Show has just ruined Death In Paradise for me. Now I can predict what happens.”
Last week Kris Marshall told Ben Shepard and Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain: “I’ve done four years and it’s an amazing show but it’s time for someone else to have some fun in the sun.”
Ardal’s character will make his debut on Thursday night’s special double episode.
