We’re used to seeing Aidan Turner looking windswept and gorgeous with a Cornish backdrop in BBC drama Poldark.
But his latest film role sees the actor completely transformed, as he plays the part of a murderous Nazi in The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then The Bigfoot.
The new film – which came out in the US on Friday – stars Aidan, 35, as American soldier Calvin Barr, who infiltrates the Nazi regime to assassinate Adolf Hitler.
Fans of the gorgeous actor piled in on social media to express their shock at his new role, with one commenting: “OH MY GOD AIDEN TURNER IS IN IT.’
Another tweeted: “Just watched @HitlerBigfoot and found it to be quite beautiful in character study… Oh and Aidan Turner 😊😊 #SuchANeatFilm #Interesting.”
A third sounded shocked, writing: “Aidan Turner plays Nazi killer!?”
The strange tale later sees ‘Calvin’ as an older man, played by veteran Sam Elliot, on a new mission to kill Big Foot, as he’s carrying a disease which could wipe out humanity.
It might sound strange, but the movie, directed by Robert Krzykowski, has so far been a hit with audiences in the US. And let’s face it, seeing Aidan’s face is always welcome.
