Olympic diver Tom Daley and his Oscar-winning screenwriter husband Dustin Lance Black have confirmed they are expecting a baby boy.
The couple revealed on Valentine’s Day that they will welcome their first child via surrogacy this year.
And during a chat with Fearne Cotton on her Happy Place podcast, they announced the baby’s gender: a little boy!

When Fearne asked if they knew the sex, Tom said: “If people look closely at the post we did, you’ll be able to see it. And a lot of people have been asking us. We’re going to have a little boy!”
Lance said he was absolutely convinced for “no irrational reason” that it would be a girl, so he was shocked to hear it’s a boy!

Tom and Lance began the process of starting their family two and a half years ago, and said they knew from the moment they met that kids were on the cards.
“We had our names for the children within a week of knowing each other,” said Tom.
And one of those names they chose way back when is the name they’ve settled on for their baby boy – not that they’re divulging it right now!
They told Fearne they enjoy a close relationship with the surrogate carrying their child, but she did not want to be named publicly so they are respecting her wishes.
Tom said the couple “love her so much” they can’t imagine not seeing her again after the child is born.
“This child will have a loving and cared for home which I think is the most important thing. Showing how much you love a child and how you’d do anything for them and support them in anything they choose to do,” he added.
The couple announced their exciting baby news with a sweet Instagram post on Valentine’s Day.
Tom, 23, shared a snap which showed the couple holding a baby scan picture towards the camera.
He made no reference to the baby news in his caption, instead simply saying: “HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!”
Lance, 43, shared a similar image to his own Instagram with the caption: “A very happy Valentine’s Day from ours to yours.”
The couple didn’t share any further details about their impending arrival at the time, but the photo alone was enough to excite fans!
One wrote: “My heart is bursting, I’m so happy for you both.” Another said: “Congratulations to you both! So happy for you!”
A third added: “Amazing news congratulations to you both!”
And a fourth chimed in: “OMG congratulations you’re going to be the most perfect parents, I’m so happy for you.”
Tom, who won a bronze medal in the 10m men’s diving at London 2012, became engaged to Lance in October 2015.
They married at Bovey Castle Hotel in Devon last year.
