EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt has told of the terrifying moment his son was run over by a car.

The 18-year-old was left fighting for his life in a coma after being struck by a vehicle as he crossed a road in September.

Adam, who plays Ian Beale in the soap, revealed the teen underwent five hours of life-saving surgery “to put him back together” and spent weeks in a wheelchair.

Now, the soap star has reassured fans that his boy Sam, is making an “amazing” recovery.

He started walking unaided last week and it seems Adam is confident that Sam will be able to run next year.

Adam, 48, shared the story on his JustGiving page, which he and Sam started just days before the accident as they planned to run the London Marathon in support of the Air Ambulance Service.

It was the London Air Ambulance that treated Sam at the roadside before taking him to the Royal London Hospital.
