Nigella Lawson was forced to defend a comment she made on Twitter today after some of her followers interpreted it in a very rude way.
The TV chef made the unfortunate remark as she replied to a fan who messaged her regarding her use of spices in her cooking.
They asked: “Hi @Nigella_Lawson. My daughter, having studied your recipe books intently, is convinced you are a mad fan of cumin seeds and that they permeate your cooking. Is that correct?”

Nigella, 58, replied: “I certainly love cumin.”
Her tweet quickly gained hundreds of comments and retweets and nearly 2,000 likes, as many took her remark the wrong way.
