Miranda Hart quit Call The Midwife due to ‘mystery illness’

The comedian left the show last August

Back in August of last year Miranda Hart told fans she would not be returning to Call The Midwife.

The actress said that it was due to a busy work schedule, but now there is a different reason.

During a stand-up gig on Tuesday night, the 44-year-old revealed that she’s been suffering from “ill” health.

According to The Sun, she said: “I don’t feel myself at the moment, because I was ill last year and I wasn’t able to exercise.”

Miranda, who played a nurse called Camilla “Chummy” Browne, was also reportedly unable to play tennis.

We wonder what it is?

Last year, the comedian tweeted: “News: it’s with a heavy heart that having shared Chummy’s return to CTM, I’ve not been able to birth (pun) the schedule to make it work. xx”

She then added: “Truly sad not to be playing Chummy this year but fans are in for a treat with Damn Harriet Walter as a new cast member and more besides.”
