A body has been found in the search for TV doctor Michael Mosley and now a cameraman has tearfully described the moment he spotted him.
Michael, who had appearances on This Morning, went missing on the Greek island of Symi on Wednesday. His wife, Clare Bailey, raised an alarm that evening after he failed to come home six hours after a hike.
However, on Sunday (June 9), it was confirmed by Symi mayor Lefteris Papakalodoukas and police that Michael’s body had been found.
Michael Mosley body found
Speaking to Sky News on Sunday, a local cameraman called Antonios detailed the moment he found the body. Michael’s body was found in a rocky area close to Agia Marina beach.
He said he discovered the body while out on a boat in the sea in the area where the search and rescue team looked for Michael.
I’m sorry for the family, I’m sorry that I’m the one to find him.
Antonios said: “During the trip we saw something inside the sea close to the rocks, we thought it was some kind of umbrella. I took some close-ups, it was nothing.”
Meanwhile, he explained they then went closer to the beach, where he noticed something.
“I’m sorry for the family, I’m sorry that I’m the one to find him. I wish we had better news.”
