Mark Wright slams claims he ‘discovered his ancestor was a murderer’

He cleared things up on Twitter

Mark Wright has hit back at claims he discovered his ancestor was a murderer.

It was reported that the former TOWIE star was set to look into his family tree on the new series of Who Do You Think You Are?, and the BBC genealogy show was set to make a shocking discovery.

While his wife Michelle Keegan found out that she had a direct link to suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst during an appearance on the show, it was reported that Mark didn’t get so lucky.

“After the amazing discoveries that Michelle had during her appearance on the show, Mark was hoping for similar results,” a source told The Sun.

“They followed his family history all the way back and traced his roots to Eastern Europe and the travelling community,” they added.

However, in something of a blow for the popular TV star, the source revealed: “But it was the fact that he had a villainous relative who had committed murder that shocked him. It’s quite an upsetting discovery to uncover.”

However, Mark took to Twitter to hit back, writing: “Wow, really ? This is news to me. Never heard this in my life.”
