Loose Women star Katie Piper has revealed she’s had a prosthetic eye shell fitted following the acid attack that left her blind in one eye.
Katie has been incredibly open about her recovery from the attack. It took place in March 2008, with her ex-boyfriend and his accomplice being jailed for the attack.
Now, Katie has shared the news that she’s started her journey towards having a prosthetic eye fitted. It comes following a long battle with her eye health, including having her eyelid stitched closed in a bid to combat pain and save her eye.

This weekend, Katie shared a video of herself having a prosthetic eye shell fitted to Instagram. And explained that she’s both “hopeful and nervous” as she starts on her new journey.
The Loose Women star first shared a picture of herself sitting in her doctor’s chair. Next, she uploaded a video of the doctor fitting her prosthetic eye shell. In the video, Katie appears to flinch, as though in discomfort, as the shell is put into her eye socket.
