Peter Andre admits Aston Merrygold’s Strictly exit ‘didn’t sit well’ with him

He's unhappy with the judges' decision

It’s the decision that has had Strictly fans up in arms and today Peter Andre revealed he’s also Team Aston and can’t believe the popstar was voted off the show at the weekend.

Peter, who appeared on Strictly himself in 2015, said the judges’ decision to send Aston home “did not sit well” with him as he was interviewed on Good Morning Britain.

Repeating a video message he had posted about it on Twitter, Peter told presenters Piers Morgan, Susanna Reid and Charlotte Hawkins: “I have been on the show and when my time was up, my time was up. What was I going to say? I wasn’t good enough to stay till the end.

“Someone like Aston I look at differently. The guy was great. To go from the week before having the highest score to the next week being bottom of the leaderboard, in the dance-off and out, it didn’t sit well with me.”

Peter has a slightly biased view on the matter since he’s friends with Aston’s professional partner Janette Manrara, who was his partner when he was on the show.

Many Strictly fans have agreed with him though and were shocked to see Aston go at the weekend when he has shown such flare throughout the series. He’s topped the leaderboard on some weeks and was a favourite to win.
