He’s worth millions thanks to his singing career but back when One Direction became famous, Harry Styles favoured living in a friend’s attic over his own lavish mansion.
The 24-year-old was only meant to stay for a couple of weeks with his accommodating friend and his wife, but didn’t move out for 18 months!
Now Harry has used his experience to inspire a new sitcom for American channel CBS called Happy Together.
Showbiz reporter Ross King explained how the show came about to Christine Lampard on Tuesday as she hosted Lorraine.
He explained how Harry temporarily moved into the home of producer Ben Winston and his wife Meredith – and then never left!
“He moved into the house to get away from all the madness,” Ross revealed. “It was meant to be for a couple of weeks but it ended up being a heck of a lot longer than that, many months passed.
“He and Ben are now producing a sitcom called Happy Together based on it. Not naming names and putting real people in there but inspired by what he went through.”
He added that Ben – who produces James Corden’s Late Late Show – found the whole situation hilarious so saw the potential for a show.
“It was the height of One Direction’s fame and no-one knew he was living in their house!” Ross said.
Christine, who is standing in for Lorraine Kelly on her show this week, joked that the attic was bound to have been better than her own – which is full of boxes.
Harry found fame on The X Factor in 2010 and went on to be part of one of the biggest boy bands in the world along with Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson.
The boys then went their separate ways in 2016, with Harry launching a successful solo career and getting into acting with a starring role in the film Dunkirk.
He won’t act in the new sitcom based on his story but he will be an executive producer on the show.
