Former footballer David Beckham looks set to crack Hollywood with the launch of a new creative media venture.
According to a report in Variety, the ex-Manchester United and Real Madrid star, 44, is at the helm of a newly formed content business.
Studio 99, the website reported, will develop formats including documentaries and TV shows on sports, travel, fashion and other subjects.

David told the publication that creating his own studio felt like a “natural next step” since his other business, an independent management company, has been producing content for partners.
Studio 99 has already signed a development deal to co-produce a documentary series with Uninterrupted, the media firm co-founded by US basketball legend LeBron James and business partner Maverick Carter.
David explained to Variety: “I have always enjoyed creating content of all kinds and working on set with creative people.
“It’s amazing to see what guys that I admire so much, like LeBron and Maverick, have achieved. It’s inspired me to see what’s possible in my world.
“It’s just very cool to be working with friends and meeting so many new people who are doing great things and want create exciting new projects with us.”
Announcing the news for his 57 million Instagram followers, he wrote: “Really exciting times ahead!”
