A dad has avoided jail after chucking his baby daughter from a rooftop.
The incident, which reportedly took place in April last year, saw the man throw the one-year-old from the roof of his home during a protest about housing.
The tot was luckily saved by a copper who caught her as she tumbled from the property, located within an illegal shack settlement in the Joe Slovo township, part of Kwadwesi in South Africa.

Originally charged with attempted murder, the man dodged prison yesterday (June 13), according to a report in the Mirror.
He is believed to have pleaded guilty to child abuse, a lesser charge, and magistrates in the city of Port Elizabeth slapped him with a one-year sentence suspended for five.
