Presenter Jeremy Paxman, comedian Joe Wilkinson, Corrie actress Sally Lindsay and Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo from Made in Chelsea were taking part in the competition to raise money for Stand Up To Cancer.
As part of the technical challenge, judge Paul Hollywood revealed they would have to make chocolate crumpets.
The announcement kicked off a fierce debate on Twitter.

Others were more just shocked that they’re even a thing.
One viewer wrote on Twitter: “Chocolate crumpets? I’m sure Paul Hollywood just made that up!”
Someone else asserted confidently: “If you can’t buy them in Morrisons or Greggs, they don’t exist.”
A third suggested that Brits all over the country might have dropped their cups of tea in shock.
